Thank you for your flexibility as Fr. Khoa and I recovered from Covid-19 this past week. I hate to cancel daily Mass, but we felt it was important to err on the side of safety and not risk passing this along to anyone else! Thankfully, both of us experienced relatively minor symptoms, and we’re both on the road to recovery.
I wanted to update you on a project that was mentioned in the annual report published back in February. Parish leadership has been discussing the parish office for the past year. The current office does not meet our needs. The building is on the back side of the parish property, which means if you’re new to the parish it can be hard to find unless you know where you’re going. In addition, the usable space is not big enough to meet our day-to-day needs, let alone any additional staff we hope to add. With that in mind, the decision was made to move the parish office into the current rectory, and to find off-campus housing for Fr. Khoa and myself. While we have been discussing this project for over a year, a final decision to proceed was made in April. We began looking for new priest housing in May, and last week we made an offer on a home which was accepted. To be honest, this happened a little more quickly than I was expecting. The closing is currently scheduled for the end of June. That said, it will take some time to make necessary updates to the current rectory, so the parish office probably won’t be moving until sometime this fall. Rest assured, I will keep you updated on this project as it moves ahead. One of my goals is to always keep you in the loop!
