Journey with us this Lent in prayer, fasting and almsgiving, as we prepare to celebrate Easter and the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. While our world is relentless and unceasingly intense, we must learn to relent. To soften in feeling and temper. To become more mild, compassionate, and forgiving. We must act in a less severe way towards others (and ourselves!). This Lent, let us reLENT and return.
Pray: Treat yourself to 5 minutes of daily quiet time to return to God. ReLENT from talking to find peace from the relentless noise. Reconnect, breath, rest, dream, relax, recover, prepare; let God restore you in these precious moments of quiet reflection.
Fast: Retreat from digital connection and social media to return to who you really are. ReLENT from the scrutiny, gossip, judgement and comparison of social media and return to who you are called to be. Return to Him.
Give: Respond with gratitude for the blessing you receive and return to God's love. ReLENT from thinking about yourself and give to those in need.
"...return to me with your whole heart." Joel 2:12
